The Journey That Led Me Here
The path that brought me to this work wasn’t linear, predictable, or traditional. It was shaped by movement, burnout, spiritual teachers, unexpected awakenings, and a deep desire to understand why we are here and how we can heal.
This is the story of how I found my purpose — and why I love what I do.

Where It All Began
When I first worked as a personal trainer, I was genuinely happy. I loved teaching students, helping them get fit and strong, watching their confidence grow.
Then one day, a few years ago, something unexpected happened in the gym. A retired physiotherapist guided us through a hypnosis experience. We lay on the floor as he led us to “the source of the universe.”
Not long after I connected to that space… I fell asleep. It was the first time I entered a different realm of consciousness.
He showed us how to communicate with another person’s body through pure consciousness, how breath can release tension during massage and body adjustment. I didn’t realise it at the time, but his lessons left a deep mark.
Years later, I found out that “Teacher Yang” was actually Dr. Yang Qifeng — the fifth chairman and honorary president of the Energy Medicine Association in Taiwan. He shared everything straight from the heart, and his generosity awakened something in me.
Burnout, Misalignment & Searching for Answers
Not long after that, I was overworking, chasing numbers and sales goals. I felt good that I could help clients get healthy, but with all the pressure from the gym management, and being pushed to sell clients 100s and 100s of PT sessions, it just didn’t sit right with me.
I felt my core values and integrity, and the job was pulling me in two different directions.
Eventually, I burnt out with stress and overwork.
Around the same time, I was searching for answers —
trying to understand my purpose in life and trying to navigate my path.
“Why am I here on the earth?”
“How can I stop my mental and physical pain?”
“Why do I feel like I don’t belong?”
As a young 23-year-old girl, I had a million questions, and none of them were being answered.
A Doorway Into Healing
Then I met a tarot teacher who led me to a retreat.
I still remember opening the retreat door and immediately feeling different. I felt so good just by entering the space.
The mentor gave me a big hug — not a normal hug — but one that felt like pure love entering my heart.
For three days (which cost me $10,000 AUD), I was completely immersed in learning:
• how everything is energy
• how emotions have frequencies
• how healing can happen through the higher self
• how to release the past
• how ancient rituals reconnect us to ourselves
I wasn’t doing it for anything specific — just a pure and curious heart trying to find answers and navigate life better.
On the last day of the retreat, I announced to the universe that I wanted to heal the world with movement and energy.
Little did I know how at the time, but I knew it was my truth.
I wanted to help people release physical pain, emotional pain — and ultimately, I wanted to heal myself.
Like my yoga teacher said, “We are all wounded healers.”
The Birth of Utopia
What I wanted to create was a zen, blissful sanctuary where people could ease their pain and return to themselves.
That vision eventually became Utopia Women’s Somatic Massage and Wellness — a space built from my heart, my experiences, and everything I’ve learned along the way.
My Purpose Today
Today, I get to live that dream every day.
I help women release physical tension, emotional heaviness, and reconnect with their bodies.
What once felt like a distant dream is now my reality.
And this is why I love what I do.
